Vitalik Said "Not Corposlop" and TRUE Jumped 900%.
A small prediction market said it would move to Ethereum. Vitalik Buterin called it ethical and not corposlop, and its token rose tenfold in a day. The contracts had not moved a week later.

TLDR
A small prediction market said it would move from Base to Ethereum mainnet.
Vitalik called it "not corposlop," and its token rose about 900% within a day.
The jobs are in the oracle and dispute work Trueo promises, whatever the token does.
On Monday, September 21, Trueo, an onchain prediction market that had lived on Base since March 2025, said it would make Ethereum mainnet its primary deployment. It was a routine infrastructure announcement from a protocol with under a million dollars locked in it.
Then Vitalik Buterin posted about it on X. He welcomed Trueo as a strong new contender on Ethereum's base layer, praised it for being ethical and, in the phrase that traveled, for being "not corposlop." Within 24 hours the TRUE token was up about 900%.
As of September 28, the Trueo prediction market had not moved a single contract, and there was no migration date. The token price moved on the strength of one post, which says a great deal about how this corner of crypto still allocates attention. 1. What Trueo actually announced
Trueo's statement was specific about direction and vague about timing. The project said Ethereum mainnet would be its primary deployment and the home of its next oracle, citing better integration potential, network effects and a better fit for a platform it wants to be permissionless, largely immutable and highly credible.
Base had served as a sandbox when mainnet gas was expensive and parts of the product were experimental, the project said. It promised no interruption to the app before or during the move, and it asked users not to open new Base markets that expire after January 31, 2027. Markets with later expiry dates should wait for the Ethereum instance.
Markets expiring before January are unaffected, and existing Base markets that settle after the migration will stay available through the official app. As of the announcement, Trueo's contracts were still deployed only on Base, and no migration date had been set.
2. What "corposlop" means, and why it moved a token
Buterin had coined corposlop before this post, defining it on Farcaster as a mix of corporate optimization, polished branding and behavior that trades ethics for profit without announcing it, the kind of thing that produces feeds built to maximize outrage and apps that harvest data, according to Startup Fortune's account of his definition.
Benzinga summarized his earlier definition more bluntly, as prioritizing profits over consumers' wellbeing. Either way, it is an accusation aimed at products that optimize for engagement and fees at the user's expense.

Applied to prediction markets, the word lands on the two giants. According to Benzinga, Trueo positions itself as offering more impartial and credible resolution than Polymarket and Kalshi. Buterin's praise reads as endorsement of that pitch.
The market's response was mechanical. TRUE went from roughly $0.02 to about $0.214 within hours, according to KuCoin data cited by Startup Fortune, which is closer to a 950% move at the peak. The Defiant put the gain over 24 hours at 900%.

None of this changed the protocol's size. Before the announcement, Trueo ranked 14th by size among onchain prediction markets in DefiLlama's count, with total value locked between about $795,000 and $801,000, all of it on Base.
3. How it works inside a prediction market's oracle
Trueo's own framing puts the oracle at the center. The project has argued that a prediction market is only as good as its oracle, and it described its design as processing evidence from different legitimate data sources to decide outcomes.
That is the part of the product that employs people. A prediction market has to define each question precisely enough that the answer is not arguable, gather evidence when the event resolves, publish a result and handle the disputes that follow when someone with money on the other side disagrees.
On an ordinary market, a question might ask whether a regulator will approve something by a certain date. The regulator issues a conditional approval, and half the traders read it as a yes while the other half read it as a no. Somebody has to decide, on the record, with a process both sides accepted when they traded.
Trueo also named what it thinks is broken. It said due process in dispute resolution is severely lacking across prediction markets, despite five years of growth. Whether a small team can fix that is an open question, but it has at least described the job correctly.
4. What people who work there say
The public record here is Buterin's post and Trueo's own statements. We could not find interviews with Trueo staff, employee reviews or hiring pages with detail, so this section is thin by necessity.
Buterin's post welcomed the project and made no investment call. He praised its dedication to decentralization and its ethics, and credited it with trying to do interesting and meaningful things with this class of economic primitive.
Trueo's cofounder, who goes by Lumberg, argued that Ethereum is the best chain for a credibly neutral oracle system. The project's immediate priorities, it said, are attracting liquidity to major market categories and building the next version of its oracle.
5. How small Trueo is next to the markets it is criticizing
The gap in scale is the context the token chart leaves out. Kalshi recorded $15.27 billion in contract volume in the week of September 14 to 20, its highest week of 2026 at that point, according to DeFi Rate. That was 92.9% of the combined total with Polymarket's global platform.
| Platform | Where it runs | Scale | Pitch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kalshi | Exchange regulated by the CFTC | $15.27 billion contract volume, week of September 14 to 20 | Regulated access, sports and macro markets |
| Polymarket Global | Onchain | About $1.16 billion the same week, the remainder of the $16.43 billion combined total | Markets for crypto natives, global users |
| Trueo | Base now, Ethereum planned | About $0.8 million total value locked | Credible oracle and fair dispute resolution |

The Polymarket figure is derived by subtracting Kalshi's reported volume from the combined weekly total, so treat it as an estimate. The comparison still holds, because Trueo is several orders of magnitude smaller than the platforms its endorsement implicitly criticized.
The platforms at the top are themselves growing into a category that rivals sports betting. Combined global prediction market volume was about $50.6 billion in July 2026, against roughly $14 billion a month wagered at legal US sportsbooks in 2025, according to a Pew Research Center analysis cited by CBS Sports.
Small does not mean irrelevant. The move also reverses the usual pattern, in which applications leave Ethereum's base layer for cheaper rollups. A prediction market choosing mainnet for credibility is a bet that settlement trust is worth the gas.
6. The jobs behind the oracle
Oracle and resolution work is where prediction markets hire engineers who are not building trading engines. The job is designing how a market learns what happened, including which sources count, how disputes are raised and who has the final say.
The closest pay benchmark is the oracle industry itself. Chainlink Labs pays engineers from about $150K to $357K by level, according to our Chainlink jobs guide. Oracle design skills transfer directly to prediction market resolution.

Legal and policy work is another growth line. Kalshi and the Polymarket US app are federally regulated by the CFTC, but a handful of states have taken action to ban prediction markets outright, according to CBS Sports, which means platforms need lawyers and compliance staff state by state.
Roles outside engineering are growing too. Market operations, question writing and dispute review are real jobs at the large platforms, and our prediction market jobs guide covers how Kalshi and Polymarket hire for them.
For Ethereum developers, the migration is a small signal in their favor. Applications that care most about neutrality are choosing mainnet, which keeps demand alive for engineers who can write efficient, audited contracts for the base layer.
The verdict
A tenfold token move on one post is a sentiment story, and a week later the protocol underneath still had less than a million dollars locked and had not migrated anything. The diagnosis is more useful, because Trueo is right that dispute resolution is the weak point of prediction markets, and the people who can fix it will be hired by the big platforms as well as the small ones.
It is right for oracle engineers and market operations people who care about how outcomes are decided, so browse web3 jobs at prediction markets and oracle networks now.
